Lexington Fayette County Detention Center is a 40,000 square foot facility with 1,200 beds, allowing a future expansion to 2,000 beds. The new Lexington-Fayette County Detention Center is a modem, state-of-the art facility which has been planned to meet the needs of the citizens of Lexington-Fayette County now and into the future in a cost-effective manner and in concert with the site and its surroundings.

Lexington Fayette County Detention Center was named Facility of the Month in the November/December 2000 issue of Correctional News.
